An stp (*.stp) file is an Analysis Studio project file containing the xml project schema and project objects.

The stp file holds the sequence of actions, data transformations and dummy variable generation in order to allow data set reconstruction from the original data set. Reconstruction occures in online database mode and when a stp file is installed on an Analysis Server.

Stp files pair with data files (*.data) and in off line mode, the Analysis Studio engine loads the data from the .data file.
